Maths Club ✖️➗ (Ages 9-11)

Tuesday 3 November 2026 12:00 – 12:40 (Europe/London)

About this session

Join my small, supportive online Maths Exploration Club for children aged 9–11.

Each 40-minute session is hosted live via Google Meet and kept to a small group, creating a friendly and encouraging environment where children can learn together, ask questions and work things out at their own pace.

The Primary National Curriculum is used as a guide for the areas we explore, but sessions are designed around making Maths clear, accessible and enjoyable rather than following a rigid classroom approach.

In our sessions, we explore:

🔢 Numbers & Place Value – Working with larger numbers, place value, comparing numbers and negative numbers.

➕ Calculations – Building confidence with column addition and subtraction, written multiplication, short and long division, remainders and mixed calculations.

🍰 Fractions, Decimals & Percentages – Understanding how these different ways of representing numbers connect and working with them confidently.

⚖️ Ratio, Proportion & Algebra – Exploring ratios, equivalent ratios, proportion, simple algebra and equations.

📐 Shape, Space & Measures – Angles, coordinates, symmetry, shape properties, perimeter, area, volume, capacity and units of measurement.

📊 Data & Problem Solving – Reading and interpreting data, averages, tables and graphs, alongside a range of mathematical word problems.

🧠 Mathematical Thinking – Learning how to choose a method, work through problems step-by-step, explain thinking and check whether an answer makes sense.

Sessions are designed to help children understand the Maths behind the method, rather than simply memorising what to do.

They’re particularly suited to children who benefit from a calm, visual and supportive approach, including children with SEN and neurodivergent learning styles.

Optional worksheets are provided to support learning and give children opportunities to practise what we've explored during the session. 💚
