Wednesday 4 November 2026 12:00 – 12:40 (Europe/London)

About this session

Join my small, supportive online English Exploration Club for children aged 9–11.
Each 40-minute session is hosted live via Google Meet, kept to a small group size to ensure every child has the chance to participate, share their ideas, and receive support.

My aim is to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where children can build confidence in their reading, writing, and self-expression. At Rivers Tutoring, I focus on developing key literacy skills while taking guidance from the primary National Curriculum. These sessions are suitable for children learning at primary-aged levels, including those with SEN or neurodivergent learning styles who prefer a collaborative, lower-pressure approach.

In our sessions, we explore:
🟑Reading & Inference: Developing a deeper understanding of texts and what lies between the lines.
🟑Writing Mastery: Exploring paragraph structure, dialogue, and techniques for both creative and non-fiction writing.
🟑Advanced Grammar: Making sense of tenses, relative clauses, and active/passive voice in a clear, practical way.
🟑The Craft of Writing: Learning how to edit and improve work, and using figurative language to bring stories to life.
🟑Comparing Texts: Developing critical thinking skills by looking at different writing styles side-by-side.

My sessions are interactive and designed to help children strengthen their skills while growing in confidence before they head to secondary school.
